Thinking about updating your hair style? It can be a difficult decision to make, especially if you have been riding your current do for a few years. We all have huge debates with ourselves about what hair style to go with when we finally decide to make a change; should I go shorter, longer, new color, highlights, who should do the cut, aaahhhhh!
It can feel overwhelming at times because so much of the way we feel about how we look is bound up in our hair style – and it makes sense after all your hair frames your face and gives endless hints to others about who you are.
Making the big decision takes guts, you have to commit to what you fear may be a terrible mistake and that you will come out the other end – Ugly!
My 3 rules for changing hairstyle Here are three hair styles that will be hip for the next couple of years, so if you are looking for a change give serious consideration to each of these styles.
Short curly head of hair with body - this neck to shoulder length hair is a great choice for lots of different face shapes and it gives you a sexy and effervescent feeling. To achieve this look simply towel dry your hair, comb moose through it and blow dry. Then take 2-3 inch sections and curl with curling iron. Finish with a blow dry for more body.
Long Hair with Huge Curls – this sultry and stunning look comes easy to those in the know. Dry hair completely then take small sections and twist around an unopened curling iron for just a few seconds. Next you’ll need a frizz control and a curling product, mix equal amounts in the palm of your hand and work the mixture through only the ends of your hair. Now, flip your hair over your head and ruffle, stand up – voila!
A Straight Look – Lot’s of movement is available in this style, the key to success is a cut is long layers that are a spot uneven, so it looks natural, not like it came from a pattern book. The final touch for this hair style is a straightening iron over the ends, this helps to give definition to the layers and body and movement to your hair. Each of these three hairstyles will send a deluge of compliments your way. Ready, Set, Go! It’s time to make the decision and stick to it. Remember that each new hair style requires a bit of time to grow into it. So give yourself that time let your new hair walk around with you for a few days before you decide you made a mistake, because I promise you that you didn’t. Love yourself, love your hair. |
